Profile deutsch describes all levels of the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages” and thus makes language skills measurable. It includes a database on CD-ROM with descriptions of ability, vocabulary and grammar which are assigned to the different levels. Lists of learning and communications strategies and text types are also included in the database. The CD-ROM allows the instructor to carry out various searches, assemble materials from the various lists and use them for further processing in other programs. Profile deutsch is a reference work, a checklist and a treasure trove and can be adapted to regional circumstances or specific requirements.
